The heart of the Research Centre is the Web Visualization Tool, which allows user to optimize the “deep web”. A typical search engine displays 8-10 results per page, which makes getting an overview of the information available on a specific topic impossible. The GSMA Web Visualization Tool displays the top 500 results from the web in a heat map format that gives users a sense of the breadth and depth of mobile telecom industry data, research and analysis that is on the web. The heat map allows users to quickly narrow their search to pages that are relevant to their needs.
